Howto: Android-Themes für Telegram manuell erstellen

Heute wurde eine neue Version des Telegram-Android-Clients freigegeben. Die App bringt einen eigenen Theme-Editor mit, aber es ist immer gut, zu wissen, wie man die notwenigen Inhalte auch ohne die App erzeugen kann. Daher soll dieser Artikel aufzeigen, wie man ein vollständiges Telegram-Theme für Android erzeugt, im Beispiel unter Verwendung einer Linux-Shell (das Beispiel findet sich auf Codeberg):

Inhalt

Telegram für Android verwendet leider ein anderes Dateiformat als Telegram Desktop, daher funktionieren die existierenden Anleitungen nicht. Es werden zwei separate Datensätze benötigt, zum einen eine Definition des Farbschemas und zum anderen ein Hintergrundbild. Das Hintergrundbild ist eine JPEG-Datei, das Format für das Farbschema scheint größtenteils identisch mit dem von Telegram Desktop zu sein.

In meinem Fall beginne ich einfach mit dem Standard-Farbschema und lege es in einer Datei namens colors.tdesktop-theme ab:

Das folgende Hintergrundbild soll verwendet werden und wird in background.jpg abgelegt:

Diese beiden Datensätze müssen nun hintereinander in eine gemeinsame Datei mit der Endung .attheme geschrieben werden, allerdings muss die Zeichenkette “WPS” dazwischenstehen. Dies lässt sich mit cat und echo bewerkstelligen:

$ cat colors.tdesktop-theme > sturmi.attheme
$ echo "WPS" >> sturmi.attheme
$ cat background.jpg >> sturmi.attheme

Jetzt enthältsturmi.attheme das komplette Theme.

Installation

Ich sende die Datei einfach via Telegram an mich selbst, lade sie herunter und öffne sie auf dem Gerät. Telegram zeigt daraufhin eine Vorschau an und bietet die Installation es neuen Themes an.
